I've been running the same old gas-charged mono-tube shocks on my '73 J-2000 for several years. I've never been particularly happy with the valving. The compression seemed much too soft and even the rebound felt weak, but I simply put up with it until now. I decided to try out a set of the new Rancho RS7000MT shocks. They are gas-charged, non-rebuildable, mono-tube shocks. Even while installing them this afternoon I could feel that the valving is firmer than the old shocks. I'm looking forward to putting some on- and off-road miles on them in Moab next week! Ask me what I think in a few days!
