New Rules for 2013 Top Truck Challenge

The word started leaking out and I have been getting a few questions about it so I figured I'd make it at least a little more clear.

For 2013 we have some changes planned for Top Truck Challenge. The most notable change will be no more buggies. I'm sure that will irritate more than a few people but the fact of the matter is that most buggy owners don't read Four Wheeler throughout the year. So the idea is to bring the event back to the readers.

We are still working on the rules but basically no more tube buggies or back-halved rigs. The idea is that the rigs need to be more real world. The competing vehicles need to look like a production vehicle. It needs to have factory-style rear fenders, bedsides, a or flatbed of some sort. Tires have to be DOT compliant (size is unlimited) but the tires can be grooved or modified. No agricultural tires. The 4x4 has to have a factory style grille with factory-like headlights, no sticker headlights, or empty grilles. Basically the vehicle needs to look like what it originally started as. They can be narrowed and bobbed. Of course some intricate full tube chassis rigs will still fit these requirements but very few of them will. We're basically trying to bring it back to the readers, the event difficulty will be adjusted accordingly. Keep an eye out for the full rules when we get it all sorted out. Like it or hate it let us know what you think!
