Routine maintenance is a part of owning any vehicle. When that vehicle happens to be your trail rig, even more care should be had. I have become accustom to paint marking bolts, which is a habit that I wish I would have worked in years ago. It’s nice not having to guess if something is tight and makes a quick once over before hitting the trail much faster. While you can’t paint mark everything, you can get the majority of your hardware. This last bolt check revealed that my TJ has a bad unit bearing and worn rod end in the steering. Hopefully, I will have the replacement parts by next week and be able to finish up the last leg of prep before I leave for the Easter Jeep Safari.
