The right tire and wheel for a CUCV military truck

Mounting 40s to Beadlocks

I came home from a recent desert 'wheeling trip motivated to work on my projects. So the other night I went out and test fit some 15x14 Eaton beadlocks on my M1008 CUCV GM military pickup. I wanted to keep the brake caliper grinding to a minimum and I wasn't really all that worried about road worthyness so I ordered them with 1.5 to 2 inches of backspacing. I ended up with 1.5.Yeah, I know it's overkill but they totally clear the calipers, no grinding needed. Clearing the body will be another story.

I only mounted one of the 18/39.5-15 Super Swamper Bogger tires, man that's a lot of bolts to torque. Now I just need to get the other four tires mounted and get to work on the lift and fender trimming.

How about you, what projects are you working on?
