I have been fortunate enough to drive off-road in a lot of different places. But there is just something about 'wheeling close to home that I truly enjoy. I spent a lot of my early off-road seat time in Ocotillo Wells, California. I love the fact that you are free to create your own trails in certain areas and I really like the hilly, yet crumbly terrain that's filled with challenging washouts and ravines. Over the weekend I spent some time behind the wheel at the 51st annual TDS Desert Safari which is held in my favorite terrain. I had a blast maneuvering through some pretty tough sections without really doing any major damage to the body or banging up the underside of my 4x4 like I would in the rocks. A buddy snapped off this shot of me climbing around in my junky lumber truck. What is your favorite hometown terrain?
