Jeep announced today that the 2014 Grand Cherokee will get an all-new 50-state-legal Clean 3.0L EcoDiesel V-6 and eight-speed transmission. The Grand with the new diesel is said to get best-in-class fuel economy at 30mpg and  an unmatched driving range of over 730 miles per tank. The new MultiJet II common-rail diesel V-6 produces 240hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. A 3.0L diesel-equipped Grand will be capable of towing up to 7,400 pounds.     

The Pentastar gas V-6 and Hemi V-8 will also remain available in the Grand Cherokee lineup. They will be backed by the same new eight-speed transmission as the diesel version.
