Several weeks ago I started disassembling my new-to-me Spicer 18 transfer case. They are made from cast iron and are actually pretty delicate. Well, I forgot that when I started pounding on the shifter pin to remove it. Eventually I broke the casting.
Long story short, yesterday I mocked up the broken piece, cleaned the area, and silver-brazed it back together. It should hold, now I just need to rebuild the thing.
