I don't know what it is, but it seems like as soon as a wheel company gets it's hands on a fancy five-axis mill, the designers go nuts and produce a bunch of ugly, busy wheels that are difficult to clean and look like they don't belong on a 4x4. I like traditional wheels and I like them to kind of match the theme of the 4x4 I'm working on. Most, if not all trucks and 4x4s have simple industrial body lines. You can't just toss on any wheel and make it look good.
Anyway, at SEMA last week I spotted these polished Rocket Injector wheels (CLICK HERE). They reminded me of the vintage Halibrand Sprint wheel and the Mickey Thompson Challenger. Both were good looking wheels. In fact you can still get the Halibrand wheel but not in many 4x4 lug patterns. The Rocket Injector comes in 5-on-4.5 and 5-on-5.5 lug patters and several different usable back spacings. There is also an as-cast version (CLICK HERE) for those that don't like the shine.
