With the threat of rain looming in the distance we packed up the trucks and SUVs and headed south from our temporary central headquarters hidden deep among the palms of the southern California desert.

Day three found us covering a lot of miles, a lot of trails, and a lot of varying types of terrain to test our contenders and push them to their limits. We ran desert whoops, high speed washs, sand dunes, rocks, graded road, and lot of highway and back-roads. Tomorrow we'll spend some time finalizing our interior and exterior judging and hit one more trail.
