My free transfer case

Flatfender Drivetrain

I've been NOT looking for a transfer case for several months. I've kinda needed one though. My garage-built flatfender Jeep is nearly to the point where I should sling-in and build mounts for the GM 4.3L V-6 (which has been waiting patiently in a crate), my SM420 transmission (which has been sitting on the garage floor for over a year), and a Spicer 18 T-case (which I didn't have). I figured a T-case would eventually just show up, and it did!

Jp Magazine staffer Pete Trasborg had a buddy with a complete spare 1 1/8-inch intermediate shaft Spicer 18. Interestingly enough this Spicer 18 came from the same Jeep as my frame. It even still has the six-spline input gear inside. Soon enough the T-case and frame will be reunited.

Of course I've already screwed this transfer case up a bit during disassembly, but I should be able to repair it. I'll post up that stupid move as soon as I'm done kicking kittens and throwing tools around the garage.
