How well do you know Top Truck Challenge?

This rig seems like a ringer, or is it. It features ultra-low gearing, plenty of traction, a winch, on-board air, and more. Could you enter this or not, and if not, tell us why.

1. yes and no... there would be plenty of negatives and positives. it would be heavy enough for the tow test, kick ass in the frame twister except for the squize rocks, sink in the mud pit cruise threw the o-course with all the sharp turns, should do decent in the hill climb, high center or try to flip or roll in the mini rubicon, and do great in the tank trap even though it would do some scraping threw the canyon... so i would say for points yes... for leading every event no to bulky, probably slow, and i would say not the best flex for stabality in inclines up n down n side to side.. just my thoughts..lol

2. I am going to have to say that you could send in your entry, but it wouldn't be included in the voting issue. The two very large things that would keep you out of TTC as a competitor are the lack of a roll-cage, and the fact that it is riding on tracks! From my understanding of the rules, you are not allowed to run tracks. Sure, they would pull you through some parts of the event well enough, but I am about 90% sure that tracks are not allowed, just like tire chains aren't, (I am 100% sure that chains aren't allowed.)
So, based on those two reasons alone... This vehicle would not be in. Then the little things are added in from there. Things like the lack of seatbelts, and I don't see an easily accessible fire extinguisher.
Mr. Cappa, I am in the build process for my entry into the TTC '12 or TTC '13. I am trying to keep my build into the Truck Class, as opposed to the Buggy Class. Since you are the new Commander & Chief of FourWheeler Magazine, I would like to ask you about some building notes, if you don't mind.
1) Would you please break down the differences allowed in the build process that would make a truck different from a buggy??
2) I was guessing that a big difference would be the presence, or lack thereof, of stock body panels. But are there things allowed in the modification of the factory frame-rails? I only ask because I am building my '97 Ram 1500 from an already capable crawler, and turning it into what I call my "MEGA-Rex"!! Basically it will be the same thing as my buddy Stan's T-REX, but much bigger, more powerfull, and A LOT more suspension twist!! I need to chop the front frame horns off from the factory coil buckets forward to allow a higher clearance and more separation between the frame rails, and the Rockwells, third member, and link mounts, etc.
Then in the back it would be much easier to cut the frame off right behind the cab and use 2"x4"x1/4" wall to build a new rear frame out of. That way I will be able to much more easily mount body mounts, suspension mounts, Struts and coilovers...
So I would really like to have a better idea for the rules before I start tearing into the frame.
