Despite a tough economy and niche market that is plagued by cheap import products, an new player arrived on the scene during Moab's infamous Easter Jeep Safari in 2011.

Anvil Axle, is the newest company to join the industry, and while you won't be seeing complete turn-key Anvil-branded axle assemblies anytime soon, they will have some pretty interesting axle upgrade kits that emphasize function for the trail.

To kick things off, Anvil's first product offering is devoted to Jeep JK owners who want to ditch the factory unit bearing arrangment.

Anvil developed a free-wheeling hub conversion kit for the front and rear of all 2007 and up Jeep Wrangler JKs. These kits convert the factory semi-float unit bearing arrangement to a true full-floating design that utilizes 1-ton Dana 60 style roller bearings and 35-spline stub shafts. We like the fact that all Anvil Axle components are made in the USA!

Here are some of the heavy duty parts included in the kit.

The Spin Lock hub conversion includes provisions to retain the factory ABS speed sensor arrangment.

Benefits of the kit include:

Use of the factory brakes and emergency brake

Can be used with locking hubs or drive flanges

Allows for easy axle repair on the trail

Fully bolt-on design requires only minor machining of factory rotors

Full-float design relieves all weight-bearing stresses on axle shafts

Saves MPG when cruising in 2WD with front hubs unlocked

Makes slow speed steering easier in parking lots

Perfect setup for RVers who flat-tow to the trail
