We just returned from the snowy Upper Peninsula of Michigan, where we spent yesterday driving the 2011 Ford SVT Raptor SuperCrew, and we wanted to show you a couple hot-off-the-press photos of this new four-door Raptor in action.
It snowed almost all day yesterday, but that was actually perfect because we got to test the Raptor in a completely different environment than the desert sand the truck is usually associated with. Ford took us to a winter test facility where we were invited to drive on a number of courses including a circular ice track. We then hit some snow-covered backroads to further test the truck.
We also had the opportunity to chat at length with Raptor engineers about what went into the design of the new four-door Raptor SuperCrew, which is a foot longer in length and several hundred pounds heavier than the Raptor SuperCab. What we learned about the amount of time and energy spent on suspension tuning, for instance, will impress you. We'll have the complete lowdown, and our impressions, on the SVT Raptor SuperCrew in an upcoming issue of Four Wheeler.
For now, drool if you wish.
