Top Truck Challenge V was a study in contrasts, as contestants ran the gamut from a Chevy panel truck to a stock Hummer H1, from a Kaiser M715 to a Samurai, and finally, the winning rig---a CJ-7 on 44s running a 502ci GM V-8, massive-for-the-time 2.5-ton Gama Goat axles, and four-wheel adjustable independent suspension (!). It made for some great wheeling action, and for the very first time, we had a video crew on hand to record all the action. (Does anybody remember the original Four Wheeler TV that aired on ESPN2? Yep, that's where it aired.)
