The overwhelmingly positive reaction to one of their 2009 SEMA concept vehicles was the catalyst for Toyota to unveil two new accessory packages for the 2011 Tacoma TRD. These packages are called TX and TX Pro.
The rig pictured here is fitted with the TX Pro package, which includes a TRD cat-back performance exhaust system, 16-inch black alloy simulated beadlock wheels, BFGoodrich Rugged Trail tires, and custom graphics.
Here's a rear view of the TX Pro Tacoma. The other package available, the TX package, includes a stainless steel exhaust tip on the factory exhaust, black tube side steps, 16-inch black alloy simulated beadlock wheels, BFGoodrich Rugged Trail tires, and special graphics.
Each package is priced at $1,699, and either one can be added to a Tacoma V-6 Access Cab, or V-6 Double Cab, on both 4X2 PreRunner and 4x4 drive types equipped with the TRD Off-Road Package. As a bonus, they are covered under the three year/36,000-mile comprehensive vehicle limited warranty. Toyota says that the TX Package represents a savings of $754 compared to the package items ordered as separate options, and the TX Pro Package represents a savings of $720 if purchased as separate options.
Ordering for the 2011 Tacoma TX Pro Package will begin in July and the TX Package will launch two months later in September.
