You see, your favorite brew is chock-fill of malted barely or hops, which in turn are full of dietary silicon---which is, we're told, an essential ingredient for healthy bones. Specifically, it's something called orthosilic acid, and in beer it has a 50-percent bioavailability, which means that 50 percent of the silicon in the brew is available for your body to use. This is supposedly a very efficient availability rate, and can aid in growth and overall awesomeness of your bones and connective tissue. Now, the scentists aren't ready to recommend a daily beer intake quite yet. But a recent study of 1,700 women showed that beer drinkers have better bone density than non-drinkers, so the next time your wife or girlfriend bugs you about your favorite beverage, tell her to pop a cold one, too. You'll both be happier and healthier for it. Well, happier at least. (Source: LiveScience.)
