Ford has announced that they will be soon offering the incredible 2011 FR Raptor XT. They say this truck is nearly the same truck that finished the 2008 Tecate Baja 1000, pictured here.

The FR Raptor XT, considered an off-road-only pre-runner, will have a production run of just 50 units and will have a price of $99,950.

Hey, can you put a price tag on fun?

The truck will include a 500hp (est.) 6.2L engine; six-speed automatic transmission; 4.56:1 gears; front and rear E-Lockers; four-link RR suspension; 15 inches of front and 18 inches of rear suspension travel; bypass shocks; a chrome-moly 4130 rollcage; extensive skidplating; factory seating with five-point restraints; beadlock wheels; and tubular front and rear bmpers and integral lighting.

The FR Raptor XT joins Ford Racing's successful turnkey race Mustangs available only from Ford dealers.

2. Sounds like the 4-Link would be a great upgrade for the street legal version. Wonder if they'll make it available through Ford Motorsports.

4. The issue with the 4-link is fuel tank clearance. If Ford wants to go through the process of getting a fuel cell DOT approved, or jerry rigging a car tank (ala old Bronco 2 tank style) to work and clear the links then a Ford Racing Products 4-Link kit or even an option for the production Raptor would be viable. But without that I can't see how they can do it. Unless... I guess they can go the same route as their Superchargers and call it an "Off Road Only" part and leave the legality and SMOG issues to the end user. That would be neat!

But at that point why pay the Ford markup when you can link it yourself for much less.
