Ford Motor Company formally unveiled the all-new 2011 Super Duty a short time ago at the State Fair of Texas in Dallas, and we monitored the event via live webcast.  Here's the new 2011 Super duty! 

The most obvious visual change to the SD is the overall "bolder face."  The exterior now has a new inverted power dome hood, "vise-like, industrial-grade" grille, and 50-percent larger Ford grille emblem.  Ford also says that the exterior features the largest headlamps ever in a Ford truck.  Also available is a new Tough Bed military-grade, factory-installed spray-in bedliner.

Highlights of the interior include an all-new flow-through console. Ford says it is one of the things that increases interior functionality.  The list of upgrades also includes an available 4.2-inch LCD screen that Ford calls the Productivity Screen.  One thing that caught our eye is that it supposedly includes an off-road message center.  We're hoping it tells us to stay on the trail and never go back to the office.

Probably the biggest news are the two all-new powertrains. Diesel fans can get the Ford-designed, Ford-engineered, and Ford-built 6.7L Power Stroke V-8 turbodiesel engine.  Ford says this B20-friendly engine delivers significantly improved torque and horsepower as well as class-leading fuel economy.  For those who prefer gasoline, there's the new 6.2L V-8.  Ford says it too delivers significantly improved torque and horsepower as well as class-leading fuel economy.  The 6.2L can run on regular-grade gasoline, E85 or any blend in between.  An all-new 6R140 heavy-duty TorqShift six-speed transmission is being integrated in the truck to handle the increased output of the engines.  Also mentioned in the press conference was PTO availability, Hill Descent Control and a locking rear differential.
