The gargantuan 28th Annual Fall 4-Wheel Jamboree in Indianapolis is coming up fast and one of the highlights will be the final race of the 2009 Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks competition.
Tough Truck racing is hot. Always has been. I remember covering the first 4-Wheel Jamboree Tough Truck competition in Union Grove, Wisconsin, back in the early nineties. Even then, the event drew big crowds and the action was incredible.
Over the years the courses and the rigs may have evolved, but the action is still in-your-face awesome.
Which brings us to Indy. The Modified class of Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks will undoubtedly be something to see. As of the Vermont Jamboree, Raymond Scoles (pictured) is leading with 735 points. Nipping at his heels are Sonny Dohrmund (the 2008 points champion) and Adam Blankenhorn with 510 points each. Close behind them is Mark Noto with 490 points. Looks to be some exciting racing as the competitors duke it out.
Aside from bragging rights, the winner will get a set of Mickey Thompson tires and $2,000 of the $8,700 purse (the rest of the purse is divided among the Top Ten finishers).
If you can't make it to Indy, we'll blog the final 2009 Mickey Thompson Tough Trucks standings shortly after the event.
