We've been piling the miles on our '08 Hummer H3 Project Trailhugger.

Since our last report, our nomadic colleague Steve von Seggern has had the most time behind the wheel of our H3.  With almost 50K on the odometer, he reports that the rig is still completely squeak and rattle-free.  As you can see, he has been making good use of the Gobi Stealth roof rack.  He routinely flees the Los Angeles area for desolate, quiet areas and the rack has come in handy for hauling his family's camping gear.  We all love this rack.  We also love the wireless remote-control PIAA full perimeter lighting.

Our H3 has performed flawlessly during several trail/camping outings.  Mr. von Seggern reports that the Light Racing JounceShocks are very impressive on-road and especially off-highway.  They offer a smoother ride and better control due to their graduated damping of suspension up-travel compared to the factory jounce bumpers.  We heartily recommend the JouceShocks.

The BFG All-Terrain radials have also held up very well.  Off-highway, they've taken sidewall scuffs without damage and they offer great traction in dirt and rocks.  On-road, they're quiet and precise.  No flats to report, either.  The GT Inc. wheels have also held up very well and they look great with their beadlock look.

Mr. von Seggern says he routinely gets asked about the H3's Burnsville Auto Body/Keystone Auto flat paint.  As a matter of fact, he gets asked A LOT of questions about the flat paint.  It's pretty popular.  We have no regrets integrating this no-bling feature on the rig.  In town it integrates nicely with the rigs all-business build and off-highway it looks amazingly natural.

Our H3 will continue to ply L.A. highways and California backcountry, and we'll keep the updates coming.
