If you're into R/C trucks, today is a big day because this afternoon Traxxas unveiled the brand-new Slash 4x4 to the public.  This Ready-To-Race rig will be available in four editions.  The Jerry Welchel edition is shown here.

This is the Scott Douglas edition Slash 4x4.  There's also Mike Oberg, Mike Jenkins, and Mark Jenkins editions.

The Slash has always been one of our favorites in the Traxxas lineup of R/C trucks even though it was only two-wheel drive.  Now that there's a new four-wheel drive version, well... it's a bonus day.

The new Slash 4x4 looks to be pretty incredible.  It has an all-new rigid chassis, new body, Velineon 3500 brushless motor, it's 2.4 GHz-equuipped, has waterproof electronics, an anodized aluminum driveshaft, long-travel suspension, high ground clearance, precise bellcrank steering, and licensed BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A tires among many other things.

Traxxas says the new Slash 4x4 will do over 40 mph with the included 3000mAh 7-cell battery pack and over 80 mph if you Power Up to the Mamba Monster.  Pricing has not been set.
