Top Truck 2009: The Readers Have Spoken

Because democracy can be messy, except when it isn't.

Well, we've tabulated all the ballots and contacted the finalists: 10 Top Truck competitors and 2 worthy alternates, who'll be ready to step into the ring should one of our competitors be unable to appear. At first glance, we'd have to say you guys did an awesome job picking the rigs this year:  all of these rigs look to be well thought-out and solidly built, and we're anticipating a very competitive event this year.

Heading up the list is the Jeep Forward Control whose owner was slated to appear last year but who was unable to attend; readers gave him and his FC more votes than anyone else this year, and he vows to be in Hollister this time around. We've also got two Canadian entries this year---they both hail from the same town in Alberta, and not surprisingly, they're wheelin' buddies---as well as our second-ever female competitor, who says she's ready to do battle with the big boys. You also picked a competitor who lives only a short drive away from Hollister Hills---but trust us, based on our own experiences, there's no such thing as a "home field advantage" when it comes to this event. Thanks again to all of you who voted, and who entered their rigs for consideration.

Oh, and we also have a competitor who says he writes for a truck magazine. Oh well, even smart readers make mistakes sometimes . . .

Now let the debating begin: Whose machine will reign supreme when the dust settles at TTC this year?
