Time to mark some dates on your wheelin' calendar: The 23rd Annual Telluride Rotary Club 4x4 Tours present unparalleled four-wheeling action again this coming July 24-26. Appealing to 4x4 enthusiasts and novices alike, this family-friendly weekend provides guided tours of some of the most scenic and challenging trails in Colorado's San Juan Mountains, "The Switzerland of America" (minus the secret bank accounts, of course). Famous trails include Governor Basin, Poughkeepsie Gulch and Imogene Pass. This event's signature run is Black Bear Backwards, traversing the normally one-way trail uphill against gravity. Yikes!
The Telluride 4x4 Tour is sponsored by Clemson 4-Wheel Center, allowing all proceeds to go into the Telluride Rotary Scholarship Fund. The tax-deductible $150 registration fee per vehicle (two occupants) includes a BBQ, a cocktail reception and goodie bags.Just think about it---you can have a great weekend of wheeling and help send a kid to college at the same time! Registration can be done online at www.tellurideticket.com. For more information, contact Telluride Rotary Club at www.telluride4x4.com, 888.605.2578, info@telluride4x4.com.
