Well, we're on our way to Easter Jeep Safari and the trip is going pretty smoothly thus far.
This year I teamed up with another fellow jeeper to save $ on fuel, lodging and food.
Hitch hikers transported: 3
Hours wasted when we ran out of Diesel: 2
We're heading out across the salt flats of Utah currently, with 315 miles to go, we should be in Moab by 6:00 tonight.
My driver is Dustin Chernoh, owner of DC Customs in Ukiah, California. Dustin's friend Tom is along for the ride too.
Keeping us entertained throughout our voyage is XM satellite radio, a wonderful thing for such road trips.
My view from the back seat:
As you can see the Teal Brute has a healthy coating of road grime left over from the salt-covered mountain passes of Nevada.
Aside from the usual Moab hoonage, I plan to test out some pretty nifty new products on the Teal Brute.
These prototype 7-inch LED head lights are made by LED Head Lamps and feature low amp draw, high and low beam patterns, and extremly bright white light output. I'm pretty sure these are going to be HUGE with the Jeep TJ and CJ crowd because they put out an amazing white light and are the first LED replacement headlight to receive DOT approval.
Our transporter is Dustin's 2005 Chevy Duramax-powered pickup with a 32-foot goose neck trailer. Can you say BIG PIMP'N?
Goodyear Tire hooked us up with an awesome set of trailer tires to test in the coming months. These are the cat's meow of trailer tires as far as I'm concerned; Load Range G, designed to support nearly 4,000-lbs each at 95-psi a piece.
Keep coming back for daily updates of Moab's Easter Jeep madness.
