Here in the Midwest we knew another winter storm would eventually come our way yet this season, but we still felt abused when a Winter Storm Warning was posted yesterday for our area here in northern Illinois.
We dodged the worst of it though, and only got a couple of inches of snow. The frost is out of the ground, the sun is making an occasional appearance, and the temps are climbing, so the snow is melting fast.
Here's a shot taken from our deck on Saturday morning.
Twenty-four hours later it looked like this.
The snow got me thinking about the Easter Jeep Safari in Moab. Most of us from this area are leaving next weekend and we have to cross over the Rocky Mountains. Someone once told me that March and April are the snowiest months in the high country. Should make for an interesting trip for a lot of folks if this weather pattern continues.
