Yesterday we were hangin' out at Burnsville Off Road in Burnsville, Minnesota to shoot an upcoming tech story. Any day we hang with the Burnsville Boyz is a fascinating day and yesterday was no exception. Wait til you see what we saw! Read on.
First off, we saw this 2.8L diesel-powered, JK-axled, TJ Unlimited that is nearing completion. Burnsville owner Dan McKeag says it's on track to be completed before Moab, so look for it there. Drool.
Remember the JK we've been telling you about that rolls on 42's with only 3 inches of lift? Well, here it is getting ready to be painted. It too is on track to be at Moab. Look for the rig with the low center of gravity and big meats.
Burnsville OR has been integral in building this way-cool '81 Jeep CJ-5. It will to be raffled off at the Minnesota-based 5th Annual Crawl 4 The Cure event, which raises money for the Multiple Sclerosis Society. More info on the raffle and the event can be found at www.crawl4cure.org.
On a sad note, we had to remove our caps and have a few moments of silence for this rolled Rubicon.
On a happier note, we absconded from Minnesota just as the blizzard was spooling up. As we fled south through Wisconsin in project Trailhugger the temperature zoomed from 33 F. to almost 60 F. by the time we arrived at our Midwest Bureau office six hours later.
Annette "Top Chef" McKeag surprised us with yet another incredible lunch. Take a gander at that luscious prime rib marinating in a mouth-watering au jus. Rockin' fresh sauteed mushrooms and hot baked potatoes rounded out the meal.
Cool Jeeps, hot prime rib, no blizzard drama. Life is good.
