We spent all day at the King of the Hammers in Johnson Valley, California, and it was a great day!
Today there were a variety of things on the agenda, and the place was filling up fast with competitors, vendors and spectators. But things get really spooled up tomorrow with the LCQ at 8 a.m. Friday is the Griffin Thermal Products King of the Hammers Main Event, and it is shaping up to be an incredible day of racing. If you're not here, you still have time! For those of you who don't know what King of the Hammers is, it's what you'd get if threw the Baja 1000, rock crawling and Tough Truck racing in a blender and hit puree. The rigs here are state-of-the art and the drivers are some of the best in the biz.
Here are a few snapshots from today's goings-on.
The camping area is huge.
This Colorado is flat-out cool.
Friends are glad to see each other apparently.
There are gobs of vendors like Ready Welder
The breakage has already begun.
Tech was in full swing doing what they do best.
The Main Tent is up and loaded with cool stuff.
Traffic was pouring into the event all day.
The Traxxas guys are out in force with their cool R/C stuff.
Now if you'lll excuse us, we have to hit the rack because the action starts bright and early.
