Because watercraft need love too.

Our good friends at Gale Banks Engineering, the exclusive, world-wide distributor for General Motors Duramax diesel engines and the only factory-authorized manufacturer of the new Duramax Marine Engine will take part in the Miami International Boat Show at the Miami Beach Convention Center February 12 -16 with this rad new 6.6L marine version of the venerable Duramax diesel V-8.

Introduced as a "concept" at last year’s show, the prototype Duramax Marine Engine was displayed within the main GM Powertrain exhibit. This engine, which Banks comprehensively converts for marine duty, is based on the stalwart 6.6-liter Duramax V-8 Twin-Turbo diesel engine which the Banks drag racing team has recently used to set a number of speed records on land. The new motor, which produces 350 to 550 hp, is seawater-cooled using a belt-driven seawater pump with water-cooled turbos and exhaust manifold. Anyway, if you're down Miami way next week, check out the boat show, or log onto Banks's website for all the details.
