There are several cardinal rules of wheeling that should never be broken. 

First, never wheel alone.  Especially in the middle of the California desert in the middle of the week when almost no one is around.

Second, never try to show off your impeccable driving skillz to your wife.

Third, never expect a stock rental Blazer with fully aired-up tires to wheel good in the sand.

I broke all of those rules a few years ago and got to experience the Walking Tour of the California desert, which may I add, adds a whole new size dimension to the area.
