The Aspen line of lightweight pop-up campers was originally designed by the folks at Trailmaster, Inc. to be light enough to be pulled by a touring motorcycle, but changes in the economy and fuel prices has gave 'em a bump in popularity with light truck and car owners.
The Ambassador (above) is the world's smallest and lightest hard-top pop-up camper and the flagship of the Aspen line. It's designed for fast and easy set-up in just minutes. It offers 77 square feet of interior room with 52 square feet of off-the-ground bedding under an 80-inch-high ceiling. It also offers 28 cubic feet of usable cargo space. Made of vacuum-formed, Korad-capped, UV-stabilized ABS, the body and matching seamless ABS hardtop weighs in at only 365 lbs. with a 24 lb. tongue weight. It has a current on-sale price of $4395.
This is the Sentry. It offers a queen-sized bed, 25 square foot "front room", 20 cubic foot cargo area, quick set-up and a current on-sale price of $3650.
Last but not least is the Classic. Trailmaster, Inc. says that this unit sets the standard as the leading compact camper for the lightweight market. It offers a king size bed, 36 square foot "front room," 25 cubic feet of cargo space and a less than 60-second set-up time. The Classic's current on-sale price is $3950.
