Binder Goodness

Cool Old International Scout

I've always been a fan of the International Scout.  Unfortunately there aren't too many left here in northern Illinois.  Actually, it's pretty rare to see a Scout at all.  So I was shocked when I spotted this Scout Traveler in a Wal-Mart parking lot in Roscoe, Illinois.

This fine speciman of Binder goodness obviously didn't spend its entire life in northern Illlinois, because it isn't a rusted hulk.  It looks to have some light rust on the fenders, and the rockers are rusted somewhat.  Rusty rockers were the Scouts achilles heel because they are integral to the body structure and when they rot the doors sag.  Like a demented Scout stalker I hung out by this truck for a little while hoping the owner would arrive so I could get more information about the truck (and see if the owner wished to sell it, but don't tell my wife), but alas it wasn't meant to be.
