The new Dodge Ram 1500 has all kinds of cool new innovations like the coil spring rear suspension and the Ram Box option. We dig it. One of the things we don't dig is the Ram's 20.5-degree approach angle. Fortunately Daystar just debuted a leveling kit that should help gain a few approach angle degrees, thus making the Ram a better off-highway performer.
The leveling kit utilizes a pair of high-density polyurethane spacers that are positioned on top of the factory front struts in order to achieve 2 inches of lift. This design does not preload the strut, so there is no impact on ride quality. Installation is simple and requires no special tools. Why polyurethane and not steel or aluminum? Well, polyurethane is an insulator. It helps absorb the noise, vibration and harmonics that come from the suspension.
Daystar also offers a 2-inch lift kit that adds a pair of polyurethane rear coil spring spacers. This is the kit that is picture above. Both the leveling kit and the lift kit provide a clean and easy way to clear a larger tire and wheel package and are backed by a lifetime warranty.
