Last week I wrote that we had no snow on the ground at the Four Wheeler Midwest Bureau. Well, that all changed yesterday and last night. We got several inches of snow and it was blown around by the Midwest version of the Santa Ana winds. On the upside, my brother-in-law got to try out the 4WD on his new F-550 chassis cab dualie pictured here. This rig is his winter project. He's designing and fabricating a custom aluminum bed that'll include a crane for his excavating company.
Since I apparently had nothing better to do yesterday, I shot a few photos around the Midwest Bureau as the snow fell.
My barn, home to two insolent horses, approximately 300 bales of hay, a rotting Geo Tracker and a slew of firewood that I'm saving for some reason that escapes me, sits nonchalantly under the Midwest snow.
My daughter, who was home from college for Thanksgiving, shot this photo of me modeling my Winter Collection of clothing. This is so my colleagues in sunny, warm Los Angeles can see how lucky they are that they don't have to deal with winter.
By mid-afternoon, before the storm really picked up steam, the grass in the pasture was already mostly covered with snow.
The puppy and the horses seemed indifferent to the snow. Every day is a play day in their world.
