We're not sure why we're posting this rig---our daily quota of online effluvium not withstanding---but heck, we just like the way this thing looks. For starters, there's plenty of good ol' American iron here---AMC 360 V-8 and four-barrel carb, NP 435 four-speed stick, 205 transfer case, eight-lug axles, and Saulsbury fire-truck body complete with all the Akron nozzles and hoses you could want. The Watrous mini-pump flows 400 gpm, and tank capacity is 250 gallons. As you might expect, just about any kind of recovery device is on this rig, including an 8,000-lb winch, 12-foot ladder, twin pickaxes, twin extinguishers, and six-foot hooks. Paint is high-zoot Dupont Imron (Fire Engine Red? We assume) and lettering is said to be genuine gold leaf. We're not sure what we'd do with this puppy at one of our local trail rides, but we reckon we'd have no trouble drawing attention to ourselves . . . and come to think of it, since it's a proven fact that chicks dig firefighters, heck, this rig might even be able to score us a date. Until they find out we're only bloggers . . . Anyway, this cool and amazingly rust-free rig is located in Connecticut, and you can put in your own bid for it right here.
