Today was my 4th day in Las Vegas. My feet are numb from all the walking I've done. The show seems to be well attended, especially in the power and performance areas. The up-stairs truck and SUV section is a little thin, but still worth checking out.

A few observations:

BIG POWER

By far the most popular vehicle of the show this year is the Dodge Challenger and the Nissan GTR.

I lost count of all the GTRs when I got to 15. Given how much power they have (650+hp) and the fact that they have AWD I might have to change my pick for favorite sports car to Nissan's latest flagship. For those of you who could care less about cars, trust me this one is cool.

Speaking for fast cars I was surprised to see an ultra rare Lamborghini Reventon sitting in the lower section of the South Hall. This car costs nearly 2-million bucks and only 50 of them exist.

Of all the fast cars I noticed at the show, this one from Nelson Super Cars stole the show.

Dubbed the MT900 S, this 1,800-hp supercar will pretty much eat any other production car on the road for dinner. It's top speed exceeds 270 MPH and it goes from 0-60 in just 2.5-seconds!!! This dream car makes the Bugatti Veyron look like a child's toy.

Another amazing thing I found in the Nelson booth was this 3,400-hp engine. The block is made from billet aluminum and each head is priced at $20,000.00! Yes sir, I know what I would like to install in the Mega Titan now...LOL

GEARING A PLENTY

Advance Adapters brought out a new gear reduction setup for Jeep TJs with an automatic transmission. This "Rubicrawler" unit is an easy bolt-in that provides further gear reduction over the Rubicon's already low 4:1 low range. The unit bolts in place of the transmission's tailhousing. No driveline modifactions are necessary.

Perhaps the coolest thing at the show in my opinion was this new bolt-on portal system for Dana 60s. This setup provides 5-inches of lift and automatically reduces the final drive gearing through the drop portal gearing. Manufactured by Axle Tech International this new product is going to change the way we build rigs. Just think, one product can give you low gearing and a lift in one shot. All we need now is a Jeep with Dana 60's from the factory. Simply bolt on bigger tires and keep the suspension stock! Maybe Teal Brute would look good with these and some 46-inch Baja Claws...

Diesel Beef

Cunningham Rods showed off a brand new 5.9 Cummins diesel connecting rod that is super strong and rated to withstand 1000-hp without issue. The design features a unique diamond lock where the cap and rod interface. This ensures that the rod caps stay where they are supposed to under high torque.

Edge Diesel Performance released their much-anticipated answer to Bully Dog's PMT. The CTS (Color Touch Screen) is the latest in diesel aftermarket tunners. It allows the driver to interface with Edge's award winning power products, view engine stats like EGT and turbo boost. It also has RCA inputs to make it usable as a DVD screen or rear vision camera monitor. Very cool device
