Today's Catch of the Day is only a 2WD rig, but heck, its owner has obviously put a lot of work and attention into this puppy. The body has been raised four inches; the front suspension sports custom A-arms for the extended travel; and the rear boasts dual shocks for (one supposes) hard landings on terra firma. Rolling stock comprise 28-inch Hercules Trail Diggers up front and 32-inch Herc Terra Tracs in back, it's got custom caging everywhere, and there's even a winch up front. Under the hood is a rebuilt 1,600cc VW four-cylinder, twin Weber carbs, and a '65 VW bus tranny that's "geared down for mud." And the VW mud flaps make a nice touch, a well as helping to keep the critter street-legal in Minnesota, which is where you'll have to drive to pick it up. Click here, put in your bid, and who knows? Maybe we'll see you down at Glamis next month in your one-of-a-kind lifted Baja rig.
