Yep, our project Trailhugger Hummer H3 Alpha will be in the GM booth at the Las Vegas SEMA show in a few weeks!

We've been burning the candle at both ends (and trying to find another end to light) to get our flattened and de-chromed truck ready for SEMA, and you'll notice in the above photo that Trailhugger has a lot of new products like a DeFelice Off Road Innovations winch mount and full skidplating and a Warn XD9000 winch with winchline.com synthetic rope, Safety Thimble and hawse fairlead (more on those items in a future blog).  Underneath Trailhugger there's a new Light Racing JounceShock system installed by Attitude Performance.  Oh, and we also fitted a rockin' set of aggressive new BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain KM2 tires.

Yesterday we drove the truck from the Four Wheeler Midwest Bureau in northern Illinois to Detroit and handed it over to the folks at GM for detailing and shipment to Vegas.

This incredible facility is a long way from the cornfield-surrounded farm where Trailhugger usually resides.  Now the truck is flanked by some utterly incredible cars that are owned by GM.

The folks at GM are going to scrape off dead bugs from about 7 states and pry off dirt and mud from the farm and trail to get the truck ready for SEMA.

Back to the facility- this building was one of several stuffed with incredible cars and trucks, and it was as spotless as a hospital.  No kidding.  These folks are dead serious about cars and the care thereof.  For instance, any time a car is moved a spotter is used.  Sometimes even multiple spotters.

So what are we driving while Trailhugger is at SEMA?  Well, the good folks over at Hummer loaned us this stone-cold-pimpin '09 H2.  We're excited about this because it gives us more seat time in this proven platform with the new 6.2L engine.  We'll offer our thoughts on this rig in future blogs.  Right now we're sending all the chrome out to be powdercoated black.  Just kidding GM.
