Today’s eBay deal is quite a revelation: according to its owner, it’s a 1940 DS-235 2-ton truck, though it looks more like one of the K-series HD models that Harvester built during the 1940s than a D-series, most of which were cabover-style, forward-control models. (At least we think that's the case. Any old Harvester HD experts out there? You can fill us in.) As with other Mega-Binders of its time, the truck runs a straight-six engine, four-speed tranny, two-speed rear axle and bed-mounted Tulsa PTO winch. What’s really trick about this puppy, though, is the custom American Coach and Body cab configuration, with four doors and three rows of seats---just like any modern-day fullsize SUV, only a lot cooler-looking, if you ask us. And yes, there’s no air conditioning, or heated seats, or rear-seat DVD players for the kiddies, or much of anything else in the form of creature comforts, but we gotta admit, this thing caught our attention----we honestly can’t recall ever seeing another old Harvester exactly like this, and its owner surmises that it may be the only one in existence. Anyway, the rig’s in Indiana, and you can make your bid right here.
