The General Tire sponsered KORE Dodge Ram was first in it's class to cross the finish line at the SCORE Prim 300 race this past weekend.
Coming off a 3rd place victory just two weeks ago in the BITD Vegas to Reno race team KORE is on a role, proving the new General Grabber off-road race tire is a serious threat to BFG's Baja T/A.
Here is the quote from driver/owner Kent Kroeker at the finsih line.
“John Griffin and I went back and forth the whole race, hitting each other, smashing our trucks up, passing other people, ramming other people. That’s why we came here. That was great racing. That was the best race I’ve ever had.
I’ve never had a better race in my life. It was like Mad Max out there. The first lap was the most heinous lap I’ve ever had. I’ve been racing desert for 25 years and that was the worst I’ve ever had; the dust and going right into the sun. We started all the way in the back and we had to pass four guys to get to where we needed to be. It was a punishing nightmare. This was the greatest desert race of my life. (Kroeker finished the race with a flat right rear tire) “I don’t even know when that happened – I just had it pinned.”

Here you can see General Tire's Tony Talbert showing off his company's R&D method for the next revision of the Grabber race tire. At the end of the day what Tony learns about tires on the race track will be presented to General's tire development team. This real-world testing provides data so that the next tire you buy from General is the best it can be. No joke, the technology in this tire is eventually going to find it's way under a new truck tire General plans to launch in 2010.
