I walked into the Four Wheeler Midwest Bureau in northern Illinois about 1 a.m. this morning about nine hours after I left Dyersburg, Tennessee. I spent yesterday with the crew at Rough Country Suspension.
This is the Rough Country product development team, and they want YOU to buy their product. In no particular order the team includes Brian Sawyers, Keith Lovins, Matt Long, Bryan Nale, Derrick Bawcum and Michael Carroll. These are the guys who design and test the Rough Country suspension systems.
The Rough Country headquarters spans two buildings in the town of Dyersburg. Dyersburg is a small town just east of the Missouri-Tennessee state line. There's lots of four-wheeling in the area including the Coon Creek Off Road Park.
I saw a bunch of cool trucks in the Rough Country parking lot including this trail-ready "cab truck," which is owned by Rough Country's Jeff Greene.
I was in town to photograph an install on the new Rough Country 6-inch suspension system for the '04-'08 Ford F-150. This kit was introduced back in early May and allows fitment of 35-inch tires. Look for a story on this install in an upcoming issue of Four Wheeler.
While I as at Rough Country I got the lowdown on some hot new products. Rough Country has introduced a new line of lift kits for golf carts. They offer a 4-inch kit for E-Z-Go and a 6-inch lift for the Club Car. With the low price point of these capable carts and the low pricing on the lifts I think Rough Country has a winner on their hands.
