Yesterday we blogged about our H3s cool new wireless remote control lighting system that Showtime Audio in Chicago installed for us.
Today we're going to give you a quick, inside look at Showtime Audio. The shop is owned by Jerry Villa and all total there's a 6-person crew on hand. These folks have a cutting-edge knowledge of what's hot in audio/video, vehicle security and vehicle customization in general. Up to this point we've never worked with Showtime but we can say we hope to again in the future. They're sharp, professional, and they run a tight ship.
The front of the shop has a display area, and it contains one of the trucks they've built and a slew of products. There's also a nicely-equipped waiting area for guests to hang out in while their vehicles are being customized.
This is the shop, looking from the front to the rear, and as you can see it's ultra-clean and well lit. The BMW X5 in the foreground was literally stuffed with competition-grade audio and video that Showtime installed. The two compact cars in the middle are Zipcars. Showtime installs the electronics in these cars that allow renters to simply scan a card to enter and drive away.
Looking from the rear of the shop forward you can see Trailhugger being prepped for the wireless remote control lighting system.
This is Showtime owner Jerry Villa. He's been involved with electronics since he was 16 years old. With 17 years of experience he's at home wiring up just about anything.
Showtime Audio has their own in-house fabrication center. Here they can make just about anything out of wood, fiberglass or whatever.
