Did you know that GM 2500 and 3500 HD trucks utilize one of seven different factory torsion bar keys? Yep, according to a Daystar press release that crossed our desk a few days ago, each of these keys is indexed differently and this results in a wide range of factory ride heights. They say that the factory torsion bar keys can vary up to 18 degrees.
It's for this reason Daystar's new leveling kits for said trucks are available with two different torsion bar keys. They say that offering only one key could give less than the advertised amount of lift and in some cases none at all. Daystar says that their torsion bar keys offer up to 2 inches of lift. Daystar part number KG09107 fits vehicles equipped with purple, blue, and yellow-colored factory torsion keys. Part number KG09114 fits vehicles with orange, green, white or brown factory keys. Naturally you'll need to verify which factory torsion bar keys your truck has before ordering. The kits include extended shock brackets so that the factory shock absorbers can be retained.
