Wow! We've seen alot of monster truck mishaps, but this one involving Avenger was one of the wildest. During a wheelstand the truck started to roll to the drivers side. This put an immense amount of pressure on the rear suspension, which caused the main stabilizer bar to break. The truck fell onto the left front wheel and broke the hub. You'd think it was curtains for the Avenger, but the driver got on the gas before the truck settled down and drove it back on all four wheels. Now that's cool.
A variation on the Tough Truck course meant longer runs with more turns, which is always good. Oh, and the main doubles generated some good air as demonstrated by this Suzuki.
Here's another angle on the main set of doubles. Here the After Burner Ford Ranger gets it done.
As we said in a previous blog, we brought our project Trailhugger Hummer H3 Alpha to the show. It was on display all day Saturday at the Main Stage in the Performance Marketplace. Thanks to Smilin' Joe Pagano and the Special Events staff for the great parking spot.
Nine-time UFC Welterweight Champion Matt Hughes was at the 2 Brothers booth signing autographs and posing for photos. He's a nice guy and he drives a Hummer H2!
Through the course of the weekend we shot a bunch of features for our sister publication Reader's Rigs so keep an eye out for those. We'll have a full feature on the Springfield 4-Wheel Jamboree in an upcoming issue of Four Wheeler so stay tuned!
