The High Price of Fuel got you down?
Well don't just sit there pointing the finger at someone elses Political agenda, TAKE ACTION!
There are lots of ways to fight back.
Do you love your full size diesel pickup? I bet it's costing you the equivalent of a new compact car's monthly payment to fill it up each month, isn't it? For me the solution was to convert my diesel pickup to run on Vegetable oil. All diesel vehicles can run on a whole assortment of different fuel oils. Take a look at Vege Powered Systems. They specialize in converting diesel powered vehicles to run on new or used cooking oil. That's right, pull you rig up to the back of any fast food joint and suck out what the pimple-faced workers fried your onion rings in yesterday. Believe it or not this actually works. My '99 Dodge Ram Cummins runs on the stuff and has for the past 3 years.
Well then move to Arizona, get yourself a side x side.
In Arizona UTV's are legal to drive on the public roads as long as you follow the rules. I'm planning to drive mine around town when running errands. The DMV treats these over-powered rigs like a motorcycle. And thanks their nimble size a gallon of gas goes a long way. Yea, but Arizona is too hot! Not true, I've spent some time in the higher elevations of Arizona and can tell you that their are areas where the temps stay pretty mild in the summer. Sure, a heat wave will come through at times and make everybody sweat, but most of the year it's a pretty nice place, if you know where to go.
Don't feel like leaving your current digs?
Now that Chrysler has the whole "Let's Refuel America" program I say show your support. If Chrysler actually turns a positive profit by getting people into their cars and trucks by offering discounted fuel at the time of purchase, then hey! Maybe others will follow suite? Just think how awesome it would be if oil companies were fighting for our business as hard as say, cell-phone providers? I can hear it now, "purchase one month's supply of fuel at the low price of 3.99 per gallon and what ever you don't use rolled-over for the next month.
Think about how offten you see a person driving a motorcycle past as you as you sit there in traffic. Sitting in traffic is a gigantic waste of fuel. If more people parked their cars and took to the streets on motorcycles we'd have a lot less traffic to deal with.
I could go on but I'm sure this is enough to get you thinking.
