What started out as a fun weekend away from the office to test out the new ProRock Dana 80 rear axle in the Mega Titan ended up causing me to scramble this week in preperation for TTC.
The testing went well for the most part.
That is until the driver's side rear lug nuts decided to let go.
We discovered that someone forgot to re-check torque on the lug nuts on the left rear tire.
The result is a 6,700-lb truck with only 3-wheel drive.
That didn't stop us though. We simply tossed the now unusable tire and wheel on the back of the truck and using both front and rear winches we sucked down the opisite corners of the rig's suspension. This lifted the driver's rear up out of the sand so that we could drive it back to camp for repairs.
On BIG Saturday night we took the rig out to Comp Hill and proved the new Dynatrac ProRock 80 can survive 400-HP and 46-inch tires.
Thanks to our good friends at Mickey Thompson we have a brand new wheel on hand so that the Mega Titan can be present for TTC.
