The first thing that everybody always asks is "What kind of gas mileage does it get?" Well on this trip our best take netted us 22.3 MPG, while our worst tank got us 19.0 MPG. Our average for the entire trip was 20.7 MPG. From start to finish we covered a total of 2,423 miles over four days with just under 1,000 miles taking place on the first and last days and nearly 500 miles in town following the race around. To complete those miles we stopped for gas a total of 13 times and filled up 116.2 gallons of high-test at an average price of $4.18/gallon. We also performed a driver change at each fuel stop to keep us fresh and alert. The trip from our World Headquarters in Los Angeles CA to Portland Oregon took exactly 16 hours, including fuel stops and food stops. The return trip from Portland to Los Angeles took 15.5 hours, its downhill (at least that's the story we're going with). And last on our list of boring statistics we now know that an '08 Evo will do 110mph tapped out in 4th gear, on a closed track with a professional driver of course.
Now if that wasn't entertaining enough for you here are the few stickers we felt the need to plaster all over this poor car. The first, and obviously the best, is the Four Wheeler Magazine sticker. Next is the sticker of Mini Truckin' Magazine of which my partner in crime on this trip is affiliated with. (we wonder how many people saw and Evo with these two stickers and had to do a double take) Lastly for the rear window we have a Brawndo (The Thrist Mutilator) sticker because without Brawndo's electrolytes we would have never been able to pull off such a feet of awesomeness! (more on that later) And lastly, the sticker on the dash. This sticker got almost more attention than the car did. We even overheard random people talking about it in the middle of the forest watching one of the stages. Almost every person that gazed upon the car made a comment or had a chuckle at this sticker, but for us it was the most important sticker of them all and no laughing matter. It simply said.. "Remember stupid... you have to drive this home!" And it was thanks to that sticker that we made it back safely. We thought it was so awesome that we left it on the car when we returned it to it's home (actually we forgot it was there... oops, sorry Mitsu, hope you guys get a kick out of it).
The journey may be over but the blogs sure aren't, check back later for even more Evo Road Trip madness!
