With a couple simple phone calls and emails I have come into possession of a 2008 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Crazy I know. For those of you that don't know what I am talking about the Lancer Evolution, Evo for short, is an AWD car equipped with a 2.0liter MIVEC inline 4cylinder Turbocharged and Intercooled engine. Yea, it scoots. Anyway, so having what is the showroom version of a Rally car there is really only one thing to do with it, take it to a Rally Race.
So starting tomorrow morning myself and our Online Editor from Mini Truckin' magazine, Monica Thompson, are heading off on a 2,500 mile road trip from our World Headquarters in Los Angeles California to Portland Oregon for the Rally-America "Oregon Trail Rally" Race.
What's this have to do with Four Wheeler and our sport of off-roading? Well the way I figure it Rally Racing takes place on dirt, the cars are AWD, and they are fun to drive and who doesn't like that?
So stay tuned as I check in from the road and the race with more blogs, photos and video!
I will be giving you insight from an off-roader's point of view, to see this trip from a mini-trucker's point of you can check out the blogs at www.minitruckinweb.com. Monica has already be more industrious than myself and has three blogs up about it already...
