This past weekend was the annual Tierra del Sol event down in Ocotillio Wells, California and with Colonel Mustard almost finished for Moab, we thought we'd ramp the old guy with the new Deaver springs and see what it could do before taking it out to TDS for a shakedown run.
It just so happens that Mel at Off Road Evolution has a 30-degree ramp in the back of his shop (he used to have a 20-degree until the crazy buggies kept getting getting all the way up), so before we loaded the Flattie on our trailer for its trip to TDS, we thought it would be funny to ramp it. After laughing about it for a few minutes it dawned on us that we SHOULD ramp it and test out the new suspension and tires as well as check for flexibility and interference issues.
So we got it up the ramp and took some photos. If you look closely you can see Robin's white Titan-powered Nissan Patrol project behind the Colonel in a shot or two.
Any guesses on how the Colonel did on the 30-degree ramp? We would love to see your comments. We also have the 20 and 25-degree equivalent RTI numbers if you are more comfortable with throwing those numbers out. Post a comment with your guess and we'll update this post with an answer next week.
