Now we're getting somewhere. Our H3 Alpha has been de-chromed and flat-cleared by the team at Burnsville Off Road & Auto Body in Burnsville, Minnesota, using Keystone Automotive Industries products. Yep, the chrome door handles and mirrors have been given a proper burial and replaced with good 'ol basic black units.

The formerly shiny Victory Red paint is now delightfully flat. Very flat. Heck, we even de-chromed the H3 and Alpha logos. Our H3 is now beginning to look like how we think a Hummer should look. No nauseating frou-frou, just all-business.

The team at Burnsville stripped the truck, applied the flat-clear and reassembled the truck in five days, and they reported no glitches during the process. These boyz up in the 952 are really good. Heck, we'd trust them with a brand-new truck. Come to think of it, we just did.

Now that we've had the chance to drive around in the truck for a few days we're beginning to get some feedback on the flat-clear and it's entertaining. Shiny paint lovers are aghast at what we did, while those who think paint is a necessary evil find it refreshing. What do you think?

We'll have the whole story on how we transformed the look of our project H3 Alpha in an upcoming issue of Four Wheeler. But for now here are a couple of images taken at Burnsville Auto Body. It's still bone-stock except for the paint, but that's going to change real quick.

Oh, and check out the new Ken'z Krappy Kam video. Videos like this are going to be a regular feature with most of my blogs. Don't expect Spielberg, my friends. I make 'em with my camera phone and its pretty crappy quality, hence the name.
