Is the Jeep Compass headed for extinction soon? Please, don't everybody cheer at once . . .
Automotive News is reporting today that Chrysler LLC is rolling out a new corporate consolidation strategy that will, among other things, reduce the number of duplicate makes and models in its vehicle fleet to improve efficiencies at its dealerships. According to the report, a number of Chrysler cars, SUVs and crossovers are on the block. We can guess what some of them likely will be, but we thought we'd give you the decision: If you ran Chrysler---or any other manufacturer, just for the heck of it---what vehicles would you consign to the glue factory?
On the flip side, Chysler head honcho Jim Press has told us that the company will not only be cutting duplicate vehicles in the future, but they'll also be expanding their product line into other segments where they're not currently represented. If you ran the show, what new vehicles should Chrysler (or anyone else) build that they're not building now?
